Chai is live

Chai, the photo verification tool that checks cleaner photos before your next guest checks in, is officially live. Over the past few weeks, real hosts have run about a dozen real turnovers through it, across multiple properties, all checked before the next guest ever walked in the door. We're onboarding more hosts this week.

What we learned from the first dozen turnovers

No two hosts run turnover the same way. Every property has different rooms, different problem spots, different cleaners with their own habits. What matters to a host with a beach condo isn't what matters to someone running a five-bedroom cabin with three separate check-in points.

We already knew that going in. What we didn't fully appreciate is how much it would show up in the small stuff: how a checklist gets built, how photos get requested, how a cleaner actually moves through a property. So we're already building more ways to customize setup and cleaner workflow, host by host, property by property, without losing the part that matters most. It has to stay simple enough that you can't break it by accident.

New this week: regenerate your cleaner link

Cleaning teams change. Someone leaves, someone new starts, and the link you handed out months ago shouldn't still work for whoever has it now.

As of this week, hosts can regenerate their property's cleaner link right from Chai. The old link stops working, a new one takes its place, and you send it to whoever's cleaning your property next. No more wondering who still has access to your property's checklist.

What cleaners are saying

Chai only works if cleaners actually want to use it. One cleaner running turnovers through Chai put it like this:
